Tech-Help @ The Library
The purpose of “Tech-Help @ The Library” is to provide patrons with one-on-one assistance from a librarian who will provide guidance on patrons’ personal technology needs. Patrons are encouraged to sign up for a 15 or 30 minute time slot, however, drop-ins are welcome. All patrons should sign-in at the reference desk with the staff member on duty. If you would like to pre-register for an appointment, please call the reference desk at 315-735-2279 ext. 208 or email awilliams@uticapubliclibrary.org.

What We Can Do:
- Using Libby
- Basic cell phone use
- Basic device overview (how to text, take pictures, change settings)
- Basic computer navigation
- Email basics
- Basic app use (Note: We cannot assist with banking apps or making in-app purchases)
- Basic tablet use
- Accessibility settings
- Privacy settings on social media
- Basic resume assistance and job search assistance (Note: Library staff cannot write your resume or apply to jobs on your behalf.)
What We Can’t Do:
- Typing, proofreading, or extensive formatting of documents
- Medical, legal, or business advice or opinions
- Repairing broken, locked, or infected devices
- Setting up brand new devices
- Enter personal information for you such as social security numbers, credit card information, passwords etc.
- Repairing/restoring email accounts or email managers
- Updating or setting up personal websites
- Speak to customer service representatives on your behalf
- Keyboarding instruction
Library staff are not responsible for damage to patron-owned equipment.
