Volunteer Opportunities for Adults
Our volunteer opportunities include:
General Library Work
There are a number of opportunities to help with daily library activities, such as shelving books and straightening the stacks. We also have special projects that include data entry, book labeling, and searching for lost or missing items.
Helpful qualities: Good organizational skills; computer/typing experience
Genealogy and Local History
Our genealogy room is open to the public when a room volunteer is available.Volunteers help visitors locate materials in the collection, as well as conduct family history research. We are in need of additional volunteers for morning hours or to serve as substitutes.
Helpful qualities: Interest in local history; experience with family history research; good computer skills
Next Chapter Book Club
The Next Chapter Book Club is a book club for individuals with intellectual disabilities. Members meet at the library for one hour a week to read together and have fun. We are looking for volunteer facilitators to help lead our library club. Training is provided.
Helpful qualities: Interest in books/reading; experience with intellectual or developmental disabilities
